Seiler’s “Top Ten” attack emails:

The following are statements that Jack Seiler has made over the last couple of months to people who emailed him, asking him to comment about my articles on spending.

 Rather than engage in a discussion about our city’s spending and budget, Jack instead prefers to attack me personally. (There were no other people he attacked in any of the emails I read.) I think it’s inappropriate for a public official to personally attack a private citizen who may disagree with him. What do you think? Here are his statements:

1.       Earl looks a little racist to me.

2.       Thanks again for sending me Earl’s reckless rants. As you know, his unwanted emails go to spam in most mailboxes (including mine), so I don’t regularly read his fiction. I know Earl is still very bitter about the election he lost, and his continued unwarranted attacks on the City and City Commission only make him look more and more desperate. In any event, you are once again the only person in town who has forwarded his trash to me, so I assume the vast majority understand that Earl has an agenda and it does not involve the truth. 3.       As you know, Earl is still a little bitter about the last election and he has a hard time telling the truth. We could point out dozens of false and misleading statements on his website, but it would be a waste of our time since most people know his reputation and don’t believe him anyway. 4.       I received about 20 emails in support and about a dozen in opposition. As I have said before, Earl is irrelevant beyond a few of his former supporters.

5.       Ever since he lost the election for Mayor, Earl has been falsely attacking the City and City Commission. Do you know anything about him? I suggest that you Google his name and “Fox News” and you will learn a lot more about him. His blogs are rarely true or accurate.

6.       You may not be aware, but Earl lost the mayoral election two years ago, got upset about spending tons of his own money to garner a small percentage of the vote, and started his website to attack the City and me. In any event, you are one of a handful of people to ever inform me that you believe his stuff.

9.       Thanks for your input, Mary. Earl has always had a problem with the truth, as the voters clearly recognized last election. I could go on and on, but I suspect that I would be wasting my time. I just hope Earl runs again.
